How to reset your credit card machine / card terminal

HOW TO PERFORM A MAC RESET ON YOUR CONNECT TERMINAL
You need to perform all of the steps below in order to reset each of your terminals.

IMPORTANT – Before you start, please click on the button below. If you DO NOT see the screen shown below with the words “TELIUM MANAGER’ please follow the second set of instructions below.

STEP 1
On each terminal, press the MENU button twice and select F3 for SUPERVISOR

STEP 2
Enter the password (normally 123456) and press ENTER. Then select F2 for PASSWORD and F2 again for MAC RESET

STEP 3
The terminal will now ask which acquirer you want to perform a MAC reset for. You can toggle between them if you select 
SINGLE.

(The terminal will show “FDMS” instead of “Cardnet MS” as shown below.)

STEP 4
Once you select the acquirer, the terminal will print out a report showing that the MAC has been reset. If you then perform a logon test, check to see that PASS is written next to the relevant acquirer like in the example below.

STEP 5

To perform the log on test press the menu button twice, then select F3 (which takes you to the Supervisor function).

Enter your password and press enter (default passwords are 123456 and 01483)

Press F4 for Logon and then press F1 for all acquirers

This will print a receipt, at the bottom of the receipt is should say “FDMS PASS”

 




 

HOW TO PERFORM A MAC RESET ON YOUR INGENICO TERMINAL
You need to perform all of the steps below in order to reset each of your terminals

IMPORTANT – If using an ICT250 or IWL252 via the phone line, please ensure you are not using the phone line whilst completing the steps below

 

STEP 1
Perform a Function 70

On each terminal, press the MENU button twice and then select the “select function” option

Then type “70” and press “enter”

Swipe your supervisor card

If prompted by a query such as “Print stored transactions report” press enter

A Function 70 procedure will advise you of any transactions that have not been authorised. Once the Function 70 is complete, you will receive a printout of any transactions that were not authorised. If you receive any of these, please retain these receipts and contact FDMS directly on 0345 606 5055.

STEP 2
Perform a Function 32

Press the MENU button twice, then select “select function” option

Type “32” and press “enter”

Swipe your supervisor card

The terminal will then prompt the following questions

“Reset MAC key FDMS” please select “yes”
If you have AmEx you will also be promoted “Reset MAC key AmEx” please select “yes”

STEP 3
Perform a Function 75

Press the MENU button twice, then select the “select function” option

Type “75” and press “enter”

Swipe your supervisor card

Select “FDMS” and press enter

If you take AmEx please perform Function “75” again and select “AmEx” and press enter.

 




 

HOW TO PERFORM A MAC RESET ON YOUR SPIRE TERMINAL
You need to perform all of the steps below in order to reset each of your terminals

1. PRESS THE MENU BUTTON

2. SELECT FUNCTION (YOU MAY NEED TO USE THE ARROW BUTTON TO NAVIGATE)

3. TYPE IN 78 AND PRESS ENTER

4. ENTER THE PASSWORD – 0000 (DEFAULT)

5. SELECT FDMS

6. SELECT DELETE

The terminal will now delete the totals from the terminal and print off a total report.

Select ‘YES’ to login

The terminal will now dial out to the acquirer to complete the login process

If the login was successful the terminal will print another receipt with ‘INT COMPLETE’ or ‘TEST COMPLETE’

Press the enter button to return to the main screen and you will now be able to use the terminal
